Research Methods
The ULRI Research Methods Conferences provide an opportunity for teaching and non-teaching staff to become familiar with the salient points of action research methodology. In recent years, professionals from within UCST and ULT have attended these interactive sessions, enabling them to engage in the reflective practice of action research back in their schools.
In particular, the content of the Research Methods Conferences focus on:
- The salient points of the action research process
- How to design a research question
- Validity, reliability, ethics and bias
- Data collection and analysis techniques, both qualitative and quantitative
In recent years, the highly interactive Research Methods Conferences have been held during term time in London. In future, this service will be provided so that teachers in our schools and academies who wish to learn more can invite members of the Education Team into their school to provide bespoke training for their staff.
The Research Methods Conferences are designed to last from ½ a day to two full days, depending on the prior knowledge, experience and skills of those practitioners in need of training.
